Comox photographer - More what to Wear- Bellaphoto
This is another of my favourite fam's that NAILED their outfits. Photo session outfits don't have to be crazy fancy, they can be simple and beautiful, totally you. A simple hint is to select two colours and two neutrals, and yes jeans are totally a neutral. Try to stick within the same colour schemes without being to matchy. Denim, and white, blue and brown. BOOM! <3

Courtenay photographer - What to Wear for my family session - Bellaphoto
When clients book a family session, the first question usually is "what do I wear to my family photo session". And basically I just want to send them this amazing family's photo. THIS I love everything. Natural, comfortable, totally THEM. A few pet peeves as a photographer are TOO matchy matchy, it can be cute if siblings match, but if everyone is in jeans and a black T. just no.
Another pet peeve is when people dress way more formal than they are comfortable with. If you are a fancy family, rock that, but if it's totally out of your comfort zone, that can clearly come across in the images.
I have created a client guide to help clients figure out their style and what works for them, and I LOVE helping clients put outfits together! I am always available by text or email, to say "Heck yes" or Heck no".
Here is a link to my handy dandy client wardrobe planning guide!

Courtenay family photographer- The M Family- Bellaphoto
One of my favourite families to shoot, I LOVE their snuggle family posing. After 2 wild and crazy boys, they had a little girl, and boy does she give those boys a run for their money.
Natural family posing is what i strive for in every session, which usually means just cuddling and having fun!

Comox Valley Family photographer - Parksville Beach session - Bellaphoto
This lady. <3
Once upon a time, I was a new mom. I had one friend with a baby that lived an hour away, and aside from that, I was completely alone. I decided one day to break out of my comfort zone and attend the local moms group.. and what did I find... no, not an accepting amazing group of moms.. instead I found that moms groups were EXACTLY like highschool.

I was weird, I didn't fit in, I didn't have the right yoga pants, or diaper bag. I didn't go to pilates... HOW was I even a mom?!
I attended a few times, and heard the moms make plans for strollersize, and excerzoom.. and was given polite smiles as I tried to make conversation with my messy bun, my screaming baby.. oh god.. had I even showered this week?! After one specifically embarrassing moment where I thought maybe JUST maybe, they were asking ME to coffee (nope it was perfect mom #7 beside me) I got up and decided never to return.. Just then I hear a voice LITERALLY say "ugh, those girls are B$^%#s.. wanna go get coffee"
And this amazing woman was standing there.
She was my freaking ROCK that first year of mommy hood, and I am so so thankful I had her. When she told me her family would be vacationing in Parksville, and would love an extended family photo session, I was so excited to see them again. I absolutely love capturing connection in a multigenerational session. And beach photos are always a favourite. < I am3
