Oh my goodness. Isn't this one of the most perfect little faces you have ever see? I had so much fun with this session!

Not only were mom and dad super awesome (*any dad that brings me coffee wins*) but seeing the love they had on their face for their tiny baby girl. GAH! it made my heart melt <3

Tsawwassen baby photography- L is 1! -

This session was VERY special to me, as little L was one of my first newborns when I decided I wanted to specialize in newborn and family photography, and opened and in home studio in Tsawwassen BC.

Not only was she one of my first newborns, she was my FIRST session in my NEW awesome Tsawwassen photo studio. 

It was an exciting year for me and I am so happy this family could be a part of it.

My biggest regret in life -Tsawwassen Newborn Photographer

This is a post I have thought about many times. I have thought about how to word it.. if it's necessary.... if anyone would care. 

I have one HUGE regret in life. Honestly my only regret. As my business grows and thrives, I think about this regret from time to time. It may seem like nothing to some people, but now, with my knowledge and love for my work, it hurts. 

I don't have newborn photos of my children......

okay.. I have snapshots. I have the stereotypical iphone selfies with my babe in the hospital room. I have a few badly lit, semi blurry shots in my daughter's room, and a few on the couch.

But i don't have anything that captures them. their tininess, their beautiful little details that lasted only moments. My job, my passion, is capturing this for others.. and I didn't do it for myself...

I kept telling myself, I will do it, I will take out my camera and do our beautiful newborn photos. 
That didn't happen, the closest I got with my second is bribing my then 3 year old to get my camera for me as a nursed a ravenous 2 week old, then minutes later attempted capture their perfectness, while my 3 year old bounced off the walls, my freshly torn open c-section incision seared, and milk ran down my shirt.

This was the result.

Ain't nobody got time for that

Then trying to get an image of my two gorgeous little people together, basking in love for one another. 

Don't even get me started on the "newborn" photos I have of my older.... acid reflux.. screaming 18 hour a day daughter. It was a blur. we both survived.

I think the largest part of my reasoning behind not hiring a professional.. was pride. I AM A PROFESSIONAL, I should be able to do what I love most.. with the people I love most.


Then life got in the way.

I am not saying "HIRE ME, I AM THE BEST!!" what I am saying.. is hire someone.

THEY WILL NEVER BE THIS SMALL. EVER. AGAIN

Tiny curled fingers, those milk swollen lips... you will never see that again.


Finally. I grew a pair.. and last year had an amazing friend photograph my family. Did i want photos of myself. HELLS to the NO! I still had all that "baby weight" (cough ..3 years later) I felt like a troll, ugh no, no pictures of me.

But suck it up Buttercup I did.

and I am in love.
I now exist in images, I have captured a time in our lives.


Now I am currently online shopping for our families outfits for photos this spring <3

M family baby bump - Tsawwassen BC

Another beautiful momma to be (and daddy to be) visited  me last week in my Tsawwassen studio.
I love being able to capture that spark you have in pregnancy, the excitement of what is to come. It also doesn't hurt when momma and daddy are  gorgeous! I can't wait to photograph their new babe :)

These people.. I love these people. Unfortunately, after moving to opposite sides of the lower mainland, and you know.. kids... we just don't get to spend as much time together as I wish we could.

How I miss watching weekly top model episodes with Mikey.. and his ever present impressive supply of costco cream puffs.

But sadly... things change, but one thing that does change, it I get my twice years family session in with this cool bunch.

This year, they took the trek all the way from North Vancouver, to Tsawwassen for their family photo session! Even 100 km/hr winds weren't going to stop us.

I love the ease of their outfits, simple, but color popping that really adds depth. Big brother G is one of my favorite little boys ever. look at the hair, eyes, smile.. heart stopping :)

Tsawwassen Newborn Photographer - baby party!

I had SUCH a cool weekend!

For the past 2 years I have been part of an amazing online photography group, the ladies (mostly ladies) are SO cool, helpful, supportive,  funny, all around awesome.

I actually tend to talk to many of these girls more than I talk to my IRL friends.

A few months ago I was chatting with Lindsey Williams about how close we are, her living in Portland Oregon, and Me living in Ladner BC.

We joked around how we should get together and do a few sessions... and that is EXACTLY what we  did!!

3 babies, and SO MUCH POOP later, we were able to capture some gorg. shots in my Tsawwassen studio.

Not only did we totally photo nerd out. we also did a ton of knitting and watching terrible Kristen Stewart movies :)

All in all an awesome weekend.

This session was special to me for so many reasons
1. This is a wonderful friend of mine that I have known since out first children were tiny.. and then we had our second littles, and they quickly became best friends.... and then she suddenly beat me by having a 3rd!

2. This was my last session in my Ladner studio, before moving to my new Tsawwassen photo studio! I was a little sad to say goodbye to this space, but ready for a change!

I was so excited to have big brother and sister in studio, I could see how much they already loved him at only a few days old! Big brother was a little hesitant that baby maaaay poop on him, but he quickly promised he would not throw babe if in fact he did let loose.

I think this is one of my favorite sibling shots.. like.. ever.
